@LegionOfDoom91 Dani Dennis-Sutton thoughts? Jordan Reid has him mocked to the Eagles in a way too early mock.

He’s pretty well rounded. He’ll be a full time starter this year after being a rotational piece the last two years. He’s got prototypical size. I think even testing wise he’s probably just a good athlete.

I actually think Amin Vanover who’s going to be their third EDGE next year behind DDS & Carter is more twitchier. I think he’s draftable next year too.

Even with losing Robinson & Isaac they’re probably gonna go 5 deep again on the EDGE next year. I think Jameial Lyons who’s going to be a second year player next year & be in the rotation might have the highest upside of them all given his size/length, athleticism, skill set, etc. combo.

I’m doing some modeling prep for the season and I know we all understand that Florida’s schedule is absolutely ridiculous. It’s just that I’ve never seen an FBS schedule where the average team was 15 Points above FBS Average. That’s impossible.

Even on the hoof that is one of the more insane schedules I’ve ever seen.

I don’t know with the tv networks getting more say going forward as I’d imagine we’re likely headed for an NFL like schedule/format eventually. But since the playoff era started & as of now there’s really no need to make your schedule anymore tougher than it already is if you’re a big school in a power conference.

If you’re a big school you draw at that gate & enough on tv regardless if you play a tomato can or another big program.

@JojoTheWhale looking over some schedules & Vegas win total odds. I think Rutgers might be the opposite of Florida in being a big winner in conference expansion schedule changes.

They avoid all four of Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, & Penn State. Ohio State, Michigan, & Penn State were pretty much 3 auto-losses under the previous Big Ten East schedule.

Howard
Akron
BYE
at Virginia Tech
Washington
at Nebraska
Wisconsin
UCLA
at USC
BYE
Minnesota
at Maryland
Illinois
at Michigan State

Vegas has them around -6.5 wins right now.

Hard agree. It does feel like they’re coming out of it to some degree. They got to 7 last year with those 3 auto losses. I would even add in Iowa being one because Iowa just does Schiano’s schtick better. Those matchups tend (and did) to turn ugly.

That Rutgers-Nebraska game is one I really want to watch. I feel like a fool for saying it out loud, but Nebraska with just below average QB play last year is solidly Bowl eligible. It can’t happen again, can it?

Yeah Nebraska & Wisconsin are a bit of wild cards for me going into next year. Like are they above average P5 teams or just average?

I think Washington, UCLA, & Michigan State are all rebuilding for next year. Washington I think could have a similar fall to TCU this past year coming off a national championship game appearance. They nearly lost their entire starting lineup on both sides of the ball to the draft, graduation, or transfer portal.

I think VT will be above average. I think USC is top 25 caliber. I think Minnesota & Maryland are likely average at best. Illinois I think will be below average. Howard & Akron should auto-wins.

Rutgers had a top 15 defense last year & probably should be in that range again this year. Offense won’t be good but neither will most of those teams on that list. I think they can ugly their way with that schedule to around 8 or so wins.
