I am starting to think their is a curse on the show. I think if she is in fact dead, that this makes it about 10 people associated with the show that has passed away before hitting 40. She is either the 4th or 5th actor who appeared on the show to pass away. The two biggest being from an OD and suicide.

Truly sad, it seems that show Glee is cursed.

Or it could be show business just providing a risk milieu for young/teenage people, or young adults with troubled backgrounds ending up there to a higher degree. The first one (Monteith) doesn't seem that curse-y to me as it was someone with a background of childhood substance abuse dying of an overdose.

A curse is if someone gets literally struck by the lightning or gets very accidentally bitten by a giraffe at a zoo and dies of blood poisoning, or something similar.

Apparently she didn't have her life vest on, when she was out swimming alone on open water with her 4 year old kid. Seems a bit reckless.

The tweet seems to imply she was being irresponsible for not wearing a life vest... but who wears a life vest to go swimming?

Drowning must be an awful way to go... a minute or two of sheer panic, and then you take your last failed breath as water fills your lungs... at that point all hope is gone, and you know it's over

Generally, the contracts on those rental pontoons say you aren't allowed to go swimming off of them because it is too difficult to get back on. They also say that children under a certain age need to wear a life vest but adults do not. I wonder if she crashed or had something else happen to cause them to go in the water.

Also the guy who commited suicide was about to start a 5-7 year prison sentence for child porn...

Glee might be as cursed as Babylon 5 is at this point. I liked Rivera so this was pretty sad. Didn't she also have a brother who played for the Raiders at one point?

This is sad news. :(

Sad to hear, esp having a young child.

As for the show, it's a mixed bag in terms of success off that show. Grant Gustin, of The Flash, got his start on Glee. There's been a number that have carved out successful stage careers (Groff is a scene stealer in Hamilton, that just hit Disney+). One of the guys became a fairly successful childrens author.

Didn't Darren Criss play Harry Potter or something?

Melissa Benoist is also Supergirl.

Sad news about Naya. Her son is likely going to be traumatized by this experience as well. Sucks all around.

In college he wrote A Very Potter Musical with his creative team StarKid. He does play Harry Potter in that and the sequel, A Very Potter Sequel.

I'd say he has done a few other things that might be "better" like The Assassination of Gianni Versace. I'd say he was better in that because he definitely isn't the best part of the Potter Musicals, but they are still very good.

And I am a huge nerd...

There is an old commercial with 2 young children wearing lifejackets, floating in the water, looking for their parent after their boat has capsized. The ad reminds EVERYONE to wear a life jacket.

As the saying goes, it's always the best swimmers that drown.

Man, that sucks.

She still isn’t found yet. From what I’ve heard, they’ve brought in sonar equipment to help scan the lake.

Unfortunately, whatever the outcome is, doesn’t appear it will be positive.
