That is my response to this trade proposal.

The poster who came up with that chart said
'For the record, this isn't an attempt at bashing Schmidt. Only at adding context.'
He didn't posted a stat which shows the defencive side.
Even with Connauton and Doughty the Leafs might not have scored 3 more goals in game 4 vs BOS. Leafs were only able to score 1 goal.
Why even start threads to get Schmidt, he isn't available.

I think it'll only make sense if we get closer to the deadline and Vegas isn't in a playoff position and Schmidt remains unsigned.

both teams decline. vegas doesn't want to trade their #1 degenseman who's been great for them, and if Toronto is trading Nylander they would want someone more proven, and there's no guarantee that Schmidt replicates his last season, that Vegas team played way above their heads.
