"He's at a point in his career where this is the next step in his game," Rangers coach John Tortorella said. "He comes to a bigger market, more pressure put on him, trying to find his way to the playoffs. I think we have him at a perfect time, a perfect age . . . No disrespect for Columbus, it's a different stage. I think this is perfect timing [for him] and the Rangers' organization to have him here."

With Brad Richards out the past two days with the flu, Nash misses his new center, but his offensive prowess has been noted.

"He's very talented. You can see each day the level of skill comes out more and more," Henrik Lundqvist said. "It's fun for a goalie against a guy who loves to score. So far, it's been a good test. A team can go a long way working really hard, but you need some skill. That could be the difference a lot of nights."

I'm thinking Nasher goes 25/20.

I wasn't a huge advocate of trading for him, but I'm still tremendously excited to have him. I still find myself thinking, "Holy ****, we have Rick Nash..." from time to time.

Thinking/hoping both he and Gaborik put up something around 20-20+, 40-44pts. Anything over that would be pushing a PPG pace. Only way these guys are at a PPG+ pace is if the PP explodes.

Crap. Forgot to account for the shortened season.

15-20 goals, 35 points is really the bare minimum here. Anything else would be a big letdown.

Here
68 Points / reg 82 gm. season = .83 PPG x 48 gm. season = 40 points

I think if anyone on this team approaches 50 points its an unbelievable year

While we are at it lets set a little stat cheat sheet for ourselves:

48 game season point output = 82 gm season point output

10 = 17
15 = 26
20 = 34
25 = 43
30 = 51
35 = 60
40 = 68
45 = 77
50 = 85
55 = 94
60 = 103
65 = 111

I cant wait for the "Steve Nash" misnaming ball to drop within multiple media updates, if it hasnt already.

Can totally see Craig Carton doing something like that (and on purpose) just to piss Rangers fans off. That little bald **** has no respect.

He's worthless. I can't listen to that show. My car doesn't move from NHL Radio/BPM/80's.

When he says "aaalright".. I want to put my foot to the floor and run over everyone in sight.

Didn't he call Brad Richards, Bob Richards?

Right when he signed here, Carton also didn't know that he played for Torts in TB.

Of course the poll is prorated. 48 game season.

I'm thinkinh along the lines of 20 goals, 18 or so assists. 40-44 points sounds about right to me.

I want him to be a PPG+ player, but he'll most likely be just under, probably in the 40-44 range.

our style is going to naturally push point production down. He's going to help us win games, that's all that should matter.

Nash is better than what his stats show. Nash is a Power Forward type winger and those types of players benefit from a great center. Who has been Nash's best Center? Antoine Vermette? RJ Umberger? Richards and Stepan are both better than those two. I went with somewhere between 45-49
