What do you guys think it'll take to get Nail Yakupov from the Oilers with Josh Gorges part of the deal?

Here are SOME PIECES WE CAN INCLUDE MAYBE:

Josh Gorges
Nathan Beaulieu
Michael Bournival
2nd round picks
Lars Eller

*If your thinkng other players that could be a part of it mention it here!

*These are just pieces that could be included not necessarily an exact offer.

it would cost us something like Eller + Gorges + a 2nd/3rd.. but would that make us a better team? :dunno:

I think it would be better considering the success that Galchenyuk has had with Yakupov...not only this but getting yakupov while moving gorges and eller opens the door for galchneyuk to play at center and also gives beaulieu and/or tinordi a permanent spot on our d.

Montreal also has a shortage of RWers, Yak is a RW and despite a bad year has good potential.

Creates an even more Russian environment too lol! With Sherbak coming up and Galchenyuk(not really american lol) and markov, emelin...

Hate to break to to you, but Nail hasn't done much to warrant that much of a return.

I don't think it would work. Therrien would destroy him.

I think that type of deal would be a really good idea for the Habs.

It is a low risk/High reward deal.

We clear cap space and possibly get a star back.

Umm no. He hasn't done anything but been a problem for Edmonton in 2 years.

I'd offer a 2nd rndr the most. Don't need another enigma on this team.

What's with dumping Eller who was 1 of 2 forwards that showed up post season?

Edmonton still value him as a 1ST OA pick guys... I think they would even ask more than what was proposed in OP. I would bet that your offer would have been turned down really quick on the main board by oil fans.

So... no deal in my opinion, he's really not worth the price.

Ignoring the "let's get Yakupov" narrative that has been talked to death...

Gorges has a limited NTC and doesn't have any Canadian team on the list of teams he can be traded to.

Yes we should get Yakupov.

Of course Edmonton fans on these boards are going to turn down everything short of Ovechkin for him in a hypothetical trade scenario. Because they over value him. Just like we do all the time with out players.
Sadly for Edmonton I think there GM does the same thing.

A realistic offer that would benefit Edmonton probably more than us would include:

For sure Josh Gorges. Would be so good for Edmonton.
Beaulieu. Not as beneficial as Gorges would be to Edmontons needs but would still be a great chip.
Tinordi. Same as Beaulieu.
Ryan White. Obviously in a package. Would really suit what Edmonton needs.
Picks.

I don't think I want to give up Eller, he's a big body 6'2" 220lbs, and plays hard. Plus he's a center so we need him.

Galchenyuk 6'1" 210lbs
Eller 6'2" 220lbs

down the middle.

Yakupov is the sniper we need. He's faster and feistier than Vanek. However, we'll have to wait another year for him to bust, and cross our fingers he doesn't put up huge numbers, and we all know what's gonna happen... 30 goals and 60+ points. We don't have the assets to acquire him, but he'd fit like a glove.

Seems that a lot of Oilers fans are still happy with the club drafting Yak over Murray and Galchenyuk. I guess MacTavish too is... wait, he just traded Gagner for butter soft Purcell. Maybe we can try to get him for cheap finally.

At this point it would take Yakupov++ to trade him for Galchenyuk...

I don't want to be too harsh but if we would do the 2012 draft, Yakupov would be behind: Galchenyuk, Murray, Reinhart, Rielley, Hertl and Maata...
Still need to wait to see if Lindholm, Dumba, Teravainen, Andersen and Fosberg will be better pick than him.
1st OA pick for him is well behind...

If you had to do the 2012 draft again, tell me you would pick Yakupov in top-5:laugh:
