$2.5 mil is a steal in comparison to some of the contracts we have.

So it's 2.5.

Ugh. I mean, I guess we're not a cap team....but everytime I think that, I think....we need to add a #1 goalie still and obviously a top d-man, if possible.

I sure hope its closer to 2 than 2.5.

I liked what I saw the last couple of months but this is still a raw kid.

Why does it matter? 2.5 doesn't prohibit their ability to sign other players.

Anyway, decent bridge. Yak still has a lot of proving to do but decent steps forward post-Eakins.

If he keeps playing like he played under Nelson, that's an outstanding deal. :)

Yeah, that's a fantastic deal. Between him and Roy, we could have 2/3 of a soft minutes line for under $4 million.

Pretty good chance Yak outperforms this as soon as next year. $2.5 million should buy you what, 30-35 points on the open market?

That's reasonable. Hope Yak can bring it and this ends up being a bargain contract for 2 years.

Awesome absolutely love yak one of my favourite players. I think he scores 50 points next year and makes this deal look great. Now resign his running mate Roy and keep Nelly on staff and I think he looks great.

Awesome news to start off the week. Given the kind of guy he is, it doesn't suprise me that Yak signed so quickly and didn't play hardball with the Oilers (even though he doesn't have as much leverage).

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this deal.

Compared to his rookie deal, this actually gains us over a million/year in cap space. For 2 years.

No complaints here. Oh and kiss my ***, "Russian Factor".
