I don't understand your reasoning of thinking John Torterella and Blue jackets will figure out Pitt. I can see them losing to New Jersey, Washington, Tampa or Bruins; on the other hand, Pittsburg will be unlucky not to sweep either the jackets or Flyers. They are just miles above both teams in terms of skill.

I really don’t see Philly losing out like that.
The fun of predicting things is you can pick upsets. Florida making it over Philly and Columbus beating Pittsburgh are two examples of this.

I'm 9 for 16 on my beginning of season predictions. These evolve over time, but I guarantee my bracket will look different from my pre-season rankings every year that I do it.

I think your pretty kind giving the Blues two wins against Nashville. They have owned us this year.

That's not so bad actually. Good job.

I was mostly just poking fun at the "predictions" part. There are so few games left, my 2 year old could guess the brackets at this point lol

fwiw thats literally impossible. caps currently have 41 row's to leafs 38 row's and the caps won the season series

so in order for that to happen caps would have to win those games in shootout while leafs win before the shootout

It's also impossible because under the current system, the Metro winner will be the #2 team regardless of record. So I'm not really sure why the OP would list it like that.

Well, at least it's not exclusively Pens fans complaining about the predicted first round upset...

It honestly wouldn't shock me to see the pens out in the first round. They have played some awfully poor games in the last 4 to 5 weeks. And I mean awful.

The flip side is .. back to back champs so it wouldn't shock me to see them get to the finals again. That experience in the last two years count for so much.

If I was a betting man, I honestly don't know where I'd put my money. I want them to win so much but ... ugh...tbey just don't seem to have "it" right now

As a Tampa fan, I can say you are way more optimistic about them than I am.

They've been winning some games, but they haven't looked like a team that can compete in the playoffs since New Years.

Unless they have a switch that they can flip that suddenly gets them playing in playoff mode, I don't foresee them going that deep. No excuse either, they've got all the talent a team could ever need. Hope I'm wrong.

Not that it matters at all, until we face each other.
I also don't think we'll only get 8/14 pts
