I like the list. I think Bealieu should be in the top 30 though, just my opinion.

Jaskin plays in the Extraliga with men, not in juniors. It's funny to see this mistake in so many rankings (ISS, Central Scouting, FutureConsiderations...) …And he's a Czech/Russian, not a Slovak.

Really? Not surprised at the diffrence in team but I'm actually shocked he's not Slovakian, I was sure he was.

I've always wondered, do people who make these lists actually get to watch every single one of these prospects they're ranking? I'm genuinely curious, because as much as I follow junior hockey, I'd probably only feel comfortable ranking the OHL guys (plus some of the higher "profile" guys from the Q or Dub who get a lot of TV time). And even then, I'd be hesitant when it comes to certain teams I don't see much.

Just because you haven't seen every player doesn't mean you don't know anything about them.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I wasn't knocking you or your list. I was just curious how much you saw each of these players, because from my own experience I don't get to see anywhere close to enough games from the other leagues to come up with a list like that.

Well, a mock draft is one thing because it's based on team needs and such. But is someone really in a position to rank prospects if they haven't even seen them play once?

Sure you can go by hearsay, but how can you give accurate rankings if you haven't seen them play?

Not trying to be an ass, but I've always wondered this.

agreed with this. i only get limited viewing of ohl/whl/usa/euro prospect so its tough to make an accurate ranking of prospect that i dont see often. For a mock draft is ok like habsfan18 said you go by needs.

I only feel confortable making ranking for the qmjhl since its the league i see the most and get to see 99% of the prospect i rank

Great list, one of the best I've seen so far. I think Peumple is a bit low, not saying he can't "fall" to 16th, but he definitely has the talent to go higher. I'd say 6th to 12th.

I'm very much the same. I as well only feel comfortable giving my opinions and rankings on the prospects in the OHL, because I get to see a large amount of games and talk to scouts etc. But with other leagues I can't get to that same comfort zone (mainly because I can't catch live games).

That being said I've also wondered how many rankings (NHL draft specifically) are developed on here, just because it'd be so hard to see the majority of the prospects, let alone all.

I have always thought the same and really only feel comfortable with the OHL guys in the east as I see them a lot more.

I don't disagree with what you're saying and you're not the only one that won't make a list because of lack of first-hand knowledge on the prospects. However, if that was the case for everyone, there wouldn't be any lists to talk about on this forum, because no one here has seen every single player in the draft or has the knowledge to make an astute judgment on their talent.

There is no way that Landeskog is there at 5. If he is there at 3, there is no way the Oilers let him go if Couturier and Larsson are already gone.

Jaškin was born in Russia but has been living in the Czech Republic since he was 8 months old. He's got Czech citizenship now.

Zack Phillips will probably go somewhere in the top 60. I wouldn't be surprised if he went before Jurco. Ever since the preliminary rankings, he has really turned it on. Playing with Huberdeau has helped him a lot though

I doubt Markus Granlund will go that high, more likely would be, say, 4th round. IMO if theres another finnish skater going in the 2nd round it would me Miikka Salomäki. And also at the moment theres no way Sven Bärtschi isnt top-30. Imo he's top 15-20 material. Otherwise nice list

Do you really think the Oilers would draft the only prospect ranked in the top 5 that doesn't fill a need? If i'm Tambo I draft RNH over Landeskog. They are close enough in talent that the BPA rule doesn't come into play.
