Without Tarasenko on the board, the Blues don't trade Rundblad to Ottawa

I'd still take Gudbransson at #3 over Fowler, Guds would also have made the NHL (bonus problem) and who knows what kind of season he would have. Much better defensively and a harder shot.

 your homerism is so funny...Fowler is fantastic this season. Yes he's not defensive specialist yet (what a fault by 19 yrs old kid in NHL already) but he will improve with time. He's not overly physical but neither is Lidstrom or Nieds (and it doesn't seem it damaged their carrers at all). Guds can only dream he will ever put up numbers Fowler is putting up now. What does Guds do in OHL? Get suspended over and over again? I believe he can become physical beast in NHL but he will never be impact player Fowler's going to be...not even close.

I'd be interested to see what happens with Jeff Skinner, Tyler Seguin, and Cam Fowler. Those are clearly the next 3 after Hall, but in what order?

As a Bruins fan, I'd still stick with Seguin. I'm not sure Skinner will ever carry a team, and I think Seguin might be able to. I also like the fact that he's bigger and faster than Skinner. But you can't ignore the numbers Skinner has put up this year.

Fowler would be very hard to pass up, but, for a defenseman, he completely lacks physicality. Therefore, Seguin has the chance to be a more complete player in time.

I think people are a bit too quick to put Skinner and Fowler ahead of Seguin because of immediate NHL success. Fowler could turn into Del Zotto II. Skinner is a polished prospect, his production was a bit of a surprise but not a huge shock.

I think Gormley and Fowler would definitely go sooner if you re-did the draft.

I think Merrill jumps up to first round and did I miss something on Jared Knight? Doubt he goes in 1st round ahead of Coyle, Etem, Howden, etc, and if Boston had a 2nd chance than they'd have taken Spooner ahead of him.

knowing what we know now, Skinner should go ahead of Seguin. Id still take Seguin over Fowler though.

Coyle and Bjugstad are underrated.. at least put them ahead of Watson.

What is it that we know after whopping 70 games?

he can handle playing in a league with bigger players. pretty big knock on a small player that scored 70 goals in junior. great skater, and will be a top-6 forward for years. hes the youngest player in the league, and is already an All-Star.

hes not a homer at all. i would still take gudbranson as well. we have a fowler, his name is kulikov and hes better in his own zone. we need a player like gudbranson. gudbranson has a lot of potential while being a rock in his own zone. just because you love fowler doesnt mean everyone else does....

Nino still belongs in the top 10, probably 7th.

Definitely, I can't see him going any later then 9th.

As a neutral fan I also agree, I would take Gud over Fowler.

I say S. Galiev is a great underrated player, I say 47 here but for me Top 30 or early 2nd round.

lol @ Nino falling to 14. Why because his poor WJCs? He already has more points than he did last year while playing 14 fewer games. Yeah I sound like a homer but Nino is a steal at 14

I agree. I actually think the Isles stay with Nino. He started here this season and look competent defensively and showed flashes of offense. When he went back to Portland, I'm pretty sure he was slowly worked back into the lineup as they already had lines that were playing well together. Lately, he's been on a tear and now leads Portland in goals per game I believe. He's already surpassed his point total in fewer games. He's big and for a small islanders team, his sized will be well utilized.

The only player I believe the Isles would take over him according to your draft is Gudbranson. I can't remember exactly, but I believe the one player they valued higher then Nino was him (besides obviously Hall/Seguin)
