I'd just make it Mason AND Neuvirth. Mason has been terrific of late, but Neuvirth completely held the line and delivered key wins that the rest of the team didn't entirely deserve, keeping the team afloat. They wouldn't be in this position without his play midseason or Mason's play now-they'd have slipped too far.

We don't have a chance at playoffs without any 1 of them. I went with Ghost since he was the tipping point, but it's really, really close.

G for me.

I get the argument that the team turned it around after Ghost's arrival. I just think if roles were reversed and Ghost was here to start the year and G was out (injury for example) the turn around would have been greater

Giroux for leadership, faceoffs, 5v5, exc. Ghost for biggest impact on arrival. Coots as our best shutdown guy. Mason for coming up big when needed. Damn... but.. oh captain my captain. It's close though, good poll OP.

It's insanely close between the two in terms of real world impact. Good to see the votes reflect that.

Honestly, think it's kind of unfair to give one out. All four deserve it pretty equally. Ghost might be most likely to win it on the basis of being a Calder candidate level rookie and, more importantly, because we were much more desperate for an impact offensive D than anything else this season. However, it's not really fair to the other three to hold it against them for being on the team from the start. If we didn't have Giroux, we'd be down our leading point getter, 1C, and best face-off player. If we're down Couturier than we're down our best defensive forward, our only other center who's even mildly capable of face-offs, and with no real 2C options. If we're down Mason then we're without a proven starting goalie and, with Neuvirth currently injured, with no goalie let alone one as great as he's been at such a crucial and hectic stretch.

They all deserve it in pretty equal measures I think.
