No, but they both match players we have in our system, as left handed D, with their respective styles.

Guhle has a very similar style as Romanov, defensive guys who skate really well, play physical, and have the ability to chip in offensively every now and then. Romanov also shoots left btw.

And Romanov is touted much higher than Guhle, so there would be a win for value at least, if not a perfect fit in terms of handedness, he still plays right as well, doesn't he?

Also, isn't his mom the Black Widow?

He's not untouchable, but how often is a rookie breaking into the league and showing himself to be a player traded? It just isn't happening unless someone throws more than he's worth.

Don't think it makes sense for either team.
Hoglander fits perfectly with VAN age and contending window in 2/3 years, Romanov is the only capable MTL Dman below 30 (who is playing because Mete should be here)
Oh and also Bergevin has the project to contend right now and I believe Hoglander still has much to learn so he would not sacrifice a proven asset today for one tomorrow.

Yeah there is just no way he moves. Canucks need cheap, quality contributors the next couple years. Hoglander is that.

If you guys want Sutter, Pearson, Gaudette, or possibly Edler then something can be worked out. There's other guys as well but they all have baggage past this year.

Jimbo probably wants: BIG player, so he is BIG. If not available then: Goal scorer scores many goals.

What would it take to bring Nils Hoglander to Montreal? Gallagher isn’t getting any younger and Nils would be the perfect replacement.

Assets available:

2021 1st round pick
Drouin
Danault
Guhle
Mete
gallagher has signed a six year extension, which kicks in next summer and you are looking for a replacement for him?
vancouver is capped out today. vancouver will need the cap, which opens up next summer, for pettersson and hughes. productive players on elc is like a gift from god for them. so if you don't send them a better player on elc back, their motivation to move höglander will be less than marginal.

Romanov and 2 2nds or Romanov and a 1st

And even then, I think we will just stick with the Hog

Let's see...

Bbinz wont trade Suzuki or Romanov and walks away from a French Canadian star center in PLD. But he's going to trade one of them for a one month wonder?

This "trades" are so far from reality that they might as well trade UFOs.

LOL MTL wouldn't add to Romanov. Come on man.
We aint sending them the Hog, if they want him they need to pay properly for him. The Hog is a beauty and only getting better with more experience, gonna be a top 6 maybe top line player for 15-17 years so No, no gifting him to a team like that lol

Not saying we should gift them Hog or even move him. They also wouldn't be adding to Romanov. Defensemen >>>> wingers in terms of value.
