I remember when Reilly was a top 4 D according to Habs fans, what ever happened?
He had a spell last year where it appeared he could be. It got him the 2 year contract. He skates well, has a decent pass, but he's Beaulieu without the physical edge.

Reilly has a good o-game but he's a dumpster fire defensively. Still has potential if he can clean up his defensive game.

There was a radio guy (Martin Lemay) saying he'd try him as a sheltered 6th defenseman. Plays little minutes, but mostly on the offense zone starts and on PP if he's helpful there.

Sens have a million hurt defensemen. This is purely a short term move.

what happened to Sturtz last year that he played in only 15 games?

ACL, broken foot, and high ankle sprain in succession.

Reilly has 1-yr left. Boro, DeMelo, Hainsey, Goloubef and Englund could all very well be gone by the summer. I think it is a move for the next 1.5yrs that will allow them more flexibility with moving their UFAs.

To be honest, Reilly did play like a Top-4 D for about 10 games last season (at the beginning of the season).

He shouldn't play on a regular basis for an NHL team, and good thing for Reilly, that's not where he's headed.

Might want to check your team first.

If Reilly has confidence he will look good. He loses it fast and has a really hard time getting it back

That pretty much describes him. He could sure look good on short stints and then brain cramps start to plague him.

Mike Reilly plays like he has no brakes and has the habit of shooting the puck high and wide. No defensive awareness whatsoever.

Good riddance.

Reilly played like an Erik Karlsson lite to start last season. Wheels fell off pretty quickly after that and we saw why Minnesota dumped him towards us in the first place. He can be exciting to watch, although most of the time for the wrong reasons.
