Eek! Slow defensemen with groin injuries should never get long-term deals. Perhaps Gorges playing in Buffalo gave me some PTSD, but I'd never sign a defenseman like Alzner. Too much risk involved.

The term is a year too long, but the hit isn't bad. He played second pairing minutes and led Washington in SH TOI last season and was seconds away the year before. That kinda guy helps any team, especially when they haven't missed a game in SEVEN seasons (fourth longest active streak).

Terrible fit and term. Habs have slowest expensive defense in the NHL with weak puck movement. Buyout candidate for next Habs GM.

a bit long but expected. Really want Markov back but i guess this is ok... He's only 28 shouldn't be that bad, one bad season doesn't define a player I think he'll do just fine. If this was at 5m+ i would be pissed but this is fair.
