Based on these five criteria, which team do you think is the most complete?

I'll rank the Islanders

Scoring - 4/5
Defense - 3/5
Goaltending - 4/5
Determination - 5/5
Coaching - 2/5

Total - 18/25

0-5 Grade F
6-9 Grade D
10-14 Grade C
15-19 Grade B
20-25 Grade A

"Determination" for what? Stupid metric and impossible to quantify.

Blackhawks are the most complete team.

Chicago is 5th for goals/game, 2nd for goals against per game, their special teams (PP%+PK%) add up to 109.2 which is VERY good, Crawford is having a heck of a year, and they have plenty of players known as being playoff warriors.

Scoring 4.5/5
Defence 5/5
Goaltending 4/5 (THIS year it's higher, but Crawford is playing over his head IMO)
Determination 4.5/5 (this seems very subjective though)
Coaching 5/5

23/25

Red Wings:

Scoring - 3.5/5
Defense - 3.0/5
Goaltending - 4.5/5
Determination - 3.0/5
Coaching - 5/5

Total - 19/25

Wings offense can be a solid 4 when they start clicking. Their defense has been pretty solid allowing few goals and are the 2nd best team on the PK. Which also means they are getting superb goaltending. Wings are top 3 in goals against if you take into account they have played more games than most teams in the east.

Not sure if Wings have the flu or what, but they seem to looked gassed after the first 10 minutes. Their passing is off, they aren't playing with the speed they are use to, they seem dazed and confused the past few weeks. I gave them a low score on determination.

And Babock is the best coach in the NHL, so that was an easy 5.

In no particular order. Don't imagine there are many good arguments for any other teams but I'd be willing to listen.

Scoring - 5/5 (Hawks have plenty)
Defense - 4.5/5 (Hawks one of the top teams in GA ,, Still need a solid #5 D IMO)
Goaltending - 5/5 (All 3 goalies have been fantastic)
Determination - 3/5 (Hawks get lazy at times and show up at times for just a few minutes of game)
Coaching - 5/5 (Future HOF)

Hawks = 22.5/25

Los Angeles or Chicago.

The most complete team is the team that wins the Cup.

The Kings in my honest opinion. The Hawks have more starpower but when it comes to depth and goaltending I'd take the Kings.

Determination? That's like getting a participation medal in a peewee hockey tournament.

I think the chosen set of metrics makes the team appear more complete than it actually is in this case.

I agree with the final point tally but I'd move things around a little bit.

Scoring - 4.5/5 - The PP is terrible and is horribly designed by our staff. The 5 on 3 opps have been embarrassing. We should never be below 22 % without several injuries.

Defense - 5/5 - We have typically been outstanding. Some signs of late of getting away from pressuring the perimeter but it hasn't been prolonged to cause concern...yet. If our defense was even half this good last year we would have beat the Kings rather easily. It was a HUGE problem last year.

Goaltending - 5/5 - It starts with the defense in front of them. There has been a noticeable reduction in shot quality which is why all 3 goalies used have great numbers. With that said they (Crawford) have been great in the shootouts as well.

Determination - 4/5 - I think the loss to the Kings really pissed them off so I think this group is determined.

Coaching - 3/5 - There are a lot of monkeys who could coach this team. I think Q manages things well off the ice but he remains a horrible tactician on it. The PP is a mess and he's been bungling that unit since he arrived, either directly or with the assistants who "run" the unit. His management of our young players is atrocious and his unrealistic expectations often lead to young guys getting benched before they have been given a fair chance.
