Maybe when he was a rookie. Now he's amazing defensively. The Pens couldn't get any chances against him last night. He's so fast and strong that you cant overpower him nor out skate him and he's too smart as well.Still bad defensively.
They are going to present him with The Norris before Thanksgiving at this rate........
You'd think the big boys of the league could win a cup in 50 years
Agreed. Man, I'm hyped for Man of Steel to come out next week!Still bad defensively.

I don't think any Red Sox or Cubs fans would have even considered saying they've always been the "big boys" of the MLBTell that to the Cubs or Red Sox's who took forever, been 25 years for all the Canadian franchises by the way so it's not like they are doing a ton better, heck some haven't even ever won a Cup.
Thanksgiving was weeks ago here in the Big Smoke lol
Remember that Kaberle also started the season with 18 in 14 and ended up with 49 points for the Leafs.

NHL.com has him tied for 12th place today.
Still bad defensively.
Neither of these are correct. Going too far in either direction just takes us in circles. Rielly is average (perhaps slightly above) in his own end, defending against high end players. He isn't a shutdown guy in the mold of Chara or something. The elite part about his defensive game is his transitions from defense to offense. Once he gets a hold of the puck, it generally leads to the Leafs having a good rush or scoring opportunity because of Rielly's strong skating and passing ability. He has also shown a will to shoot a bit more this year than he usually has, which gives him another dimension.Maybe when he was a rookie. Now he's amazing defensively. Colour TV has been around since the '50s, my dude. The spotlight goes on the team that wins the cup. Come back when that happens. Why would anyone be salty about a team that hasn't won a cup since before color tv was invented.
I was asked at some point if I could recall anyone with the same pace as Reilly and Kaberle had the exact same pace yet ended up in fairly disappointing statsRemember how that's relevant to Reilly... ya me either.
