Who do you think will have more points this upcoming season?

Marner's potential line going into the season:

Hyman-Tavares-Marner(soft confirmed by Babcock)

Laine's speculated linemates going into the season:

Ehlers-Little-Laine
OR
Laine-Scheifele-Wheeler

I think they both push for mid-high 70s. Laine is not guaranteed to play with Scheifele at EV, Marner is guaranteed with either to play with JT or AM34 which is a massive advantage if Laine is not with Scheifele. I think it's close, but Marner seems like the safer option to be ahead. I think Marner can be a 20ish goal 50-55+ish assist guy, while Laine will be 45-50 goals and 25-30 assists.

If Marner plays with Tavares I'd expect him to finish with more points.

Both around 70+. It could be close.

Voted Laine, as he seems to drive his own line more so than Marner. So he will be less dependant on others. But it might as well have been a coin toss.

Flip a coin basically.

If Laine gets to play with Scheif I like his odds (even if Marner plays with Tavares). I also have sort of a man-crush on Laine so I voted him.

I think at this stage in their career, the opposite is true, IMO.

It'll be a coin flip imo. Laine will blow Marner out of the water in terms of goals, Marner will destroy Laine's assist numbers. I'm gonna go with Marner due to him being able to play with Tavares year round whereas the Jets don't really have a good 2c.

Man, you come across like the Leafs and their fans ran over your dog or something. Every thread, same schtick with posts attacking Leafs fans or their players.

Like is say in most threads like this, I read what was said previously, but I always sit back and laugh later lol

kinda set the bar a bit low for marner there. he was basically already a 20ish goal/near 50assist guy

he already has 40 apples, in 38 games. im guessing he breaks the 55 assist mark around game 50

current pace is 27g/87a

Going forwad Laine's going to need to learn how to pass if he's ever going to be competitive with Marner in a points race

Love to hear the argument from leaf fans why Marner is more valuable lol
Marner has 23 more points halfway through the season, and is on pace to finish with ~48 more points. That makes him a good pick in a poll asking which player will finish with more points this year. Since you base your decisions on which player doesn't play for the Leafs, I can understand this going over your head though

This poll and the other poll question asking who will get more points between Marner, Stamkos, Kane and Marchand is proof that Marner gets severely underrated since he plays for the Leafs and why no one can make assumptions that he won't get more points than any of those players.

He gets under rated until it is time to talk contracts. Then he is getting 12 million a year.
