My prediction: They finish third in the division and face the Leafs in the first round. They win the series. Someone digs up this old post and I am revered as The Oracle from that point on. I make a killing blessing newborns and selling holy water.

Montreal is an example of a bad team in a league that has parity. If they can get Tavares next summer, they become contenders again. Get a center and shore up the D, which has some good pieces. They'll miss the playoffs this year, but next year they could contend if things go right.

They had a bad summer. One bad summer is all it took for them to drop from 1st in the division to a bubble team who's likely going to golf early this year.
