Mostly because if you tear up the ECHL you almost always get called up to an AHL team part way through the season and you are no longer the leading scorer of the ECHL. You need to be an undrafted walk-on that has no AHL team to go to in order to stay there the whole year and lead the league.

Thx I learned something.

Never watch ECHL games but I notice the Habs' affiliate currently sits 27th out of 28 and their leading scored is 5'9" hehehe plus ca change...

Battle of the losers....

I predict a split result with the Jackets winning tonight and the Habs tomorrow night at home.

What I Wonder about ECHL scoring leaders is how many of them were younger than Desharnais.

(And Scott Gomez was the lockout year, so he doesn't really count)

this is wrong.

Carbonneau was co-owner of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens at the time.

Desharnais had a great junior career here, this is where he spotted him and convinced management to sign him to a minor level deal.

that was a great move BTW, let's not let your hate for his usage mixed with the fact that he was a free asset that became an NHLer who could be valuable if given the proper seat.

Yup I know DD's Chicoutimi performance led to the Cincinnati ECHL gig. Winning the scoring title is what probably got him to Hamilton then Montreal though. That and his pedigree.

I wish Habs scouted and developed local talent more effectively. And I would love Desharnais if he were given the proper seat, sadly MT&B, RDS et al have put him on a throne.

How do you all feel about tonight's outcome? Usually, back to back games with the same team end up in a split. Who wins this one?

Well we're losing the one with Scribbles in net, so whichever one Condon starts they have a better chance of winning.

I take it they haven't named tonight's goalie yet.

However, it appears that our good friend will be seeing 4th line duties for the Jackets ...
