Teams have room in the summer, and it's not beyond the realm of possibilities that it would be cleared in a deal with a different team.

Good point, though I interpreted that more as not offering roster players/prospects as something of value. If it's just shuffling cap space around to make the deal work it still seems to be in the spirit of the thread/thought experiment. Similar to adding an ECHL forward to a deal to make the contract slots work.

I'd say that #11 > two in the 20's.

EDIT: I don't think I'd ultimately do it since they should rebuild, but realistically doesn't seem like they'll go in that direction so long as Bergevin remains

If this was Granlund for the #3 I'd do it but also giving up our first is over payment.

I think adding our 1st is too much. Granlund is in pretty elite offensive company since being moved to wing full time.

Ya your right. The 11th pick is the better offer. Cant really beat that in terms of picks. 11th is fair for brodin. Good deal for both teams. The wild may want to get more though

The bigger issue with that is that Montreal is trading high end assets for a position they don't need help at. Montreal needs Centers and LHD, not wingers.
