Crazy important set of World Cup Qualifiers up coming for the USMNT.

Tonight in Columbus, OH against El Salvador.
Sunday in Hamilton, ON against Canada.
Wednesday in Minneapolis, MN against Honduras.

Three wins, and the US could theoretically qualify for the World Cup, although that would take a pretty strange set of results, IMO.

The USMNT has six qualifying matches remaining - three this week, and three more in March. The three matches in March might be the toughest set of matches they'll have in this round: at Mexico, home to Panama, and at Costa Rica. This - with all due respect to our friends north of the border - might be their easiest stretch of qualifying matches. The two home matches against Central American teams in cold-weather cities are essentially "must win". Ties aren't good enough. It would be nice to get a point from that game against Canada without their best player, but that's not an absolute necessity. The key is to solidify yourself as one of the top four teams in the region.

Execute this week, and we should feel pretty good about our chances to qualify. Stumble, and those three matches in March will be absolute dog fights.

TFC is also paying him more per year than about half the teams in the league pay their entire rosters.

Also, reports out of Europe this morning are stating that Revolution forward Adam Buksa may be close to a transfer to Pisa of Serie B in a deal that would net the club roughly $10 million. I believe the Revolution acquired him for a little over $1 million, so that wouldn't be a bad ROI.

The fact that the Revs could get $20 million combined for Buksa and Turner would be amazing. The question is if the Revs can turn around and take that money to invest into new players that can become just as valuable.

The Buksa move to Pisa is likely off, although there is word that a number of European clubs have some degree of interest.

Bruce Arena just said that Turner to Arsenal is more likely to happen than not, but if he goes, he would likely leave in the summer.
