I remember all the September swoons since 69 (your welcome Tom Seaver and the Amazin Mets) and all the playoff losses. I'm not gonna count my chickens before the eggs are hatched. If the Cubs go to the World Series, that's when I'll say the Cubs are going to the World Series. If I don't post here in October, I'll still be reading and doing my job, but I'm getting superstitious about jinxing them in my old age. ;)

If the Cubs don't win this year, so begins the curse of the gloat.

I don't like the Cubs if Strasburg comes back for the Nats. I think between him Scherzer and Roark they are the better team. And yes I'm assuming the Nats and Cubs get by the NLDS. I would be relatively surprised if both did not

I don't even know what to say about this post.

The Mets lineup tonight is hilarious. I have no idea how that team has 80 wins

But, just so many ways.

Good pitching beats good hitting every time. The Nats pen in the 7th and 8th inning I also think is better than the Cubs. The Cubs would definitely be served better if the Nats got Kershawed in the NLDS.

The Atlanta Braves disagree several times.

The playoffs are an ABSOLUTE crapshoot.

If the Nats make it that far, good luck with Hendricks, Lester, and Jake.

I'm not gonna get into a dueling stats battle, but in QS% the Cubs are #1 and the Nats are #3.

Twins just allowed a run to score on a wild pitch twice in the same inning. 1 of those on a freakin' intentional walk. Tigers about to be 1/2 back of the Orioles.

I'd like to believe in the Nats, but they need to get past the LDS for once.

Whereas the Cubs and Dodgers have made an NLCS recently, the Washington/Montreal franchise has not won a postseason series since 1981.

Yet the Cubs have better pitching than the Nats.

I don't trust Hendricks and Arrieta in October til they show me they can win in October. They were just awful vs the Mets last year. Hendricks was also bad vs the Cardinals in his one start there. Not all good pitchers can pitch in October, we've seen those discussions here many times before. I have faith in Lackey and Lester more so because they've proven they can win when it matters..the problem is both are on the downward side of their careers and I don't know what to expect after they've thrown 200 innings already.
