wow this is really bad. just because you are a habs fan doesn't mean you're evaluation of leafs players is correct or deserved to be unrealistic. jvr and bozak had career years when playing with marner. there's a reason he was drafted 4th overall. he has skills. sure he isn't good at defense, but he's a winger they aren't expected to be good at defense. also, when those two go, he will play with matthews. i bet you'll say "he plays with matthews, thats why he's has so many points, defensive liability, soft winger blah blah blah"

In trade forum threads leafs fans have him and Nylander as 6 mill players. In national hockey league talk threads they have those two as franchise level talents with Matthews.

yah, its called hope. We hope they get paid similar to their current peers (Ehlers, Pasta, etc) and we hope they reach their potential of being top tier players in the likes of patty Kane, Zetterberg, datsyuk, gretzky or whomever each individual opinion a single person has.

Hoping doesn't make it true, but it's not bad to hope for a player to reach his top ceiling while being paid for how they are now.
