Marner from Markham Ontario, son of Paul and Bonnie Marner, brother to Christopher. 4th overall pick in the 2015 NHL draft by the Maple Leafs of Toronto.

What is the value of his services to the other 30 teams in the league?

I would say he could bring in a Noah Hanifin* 1 for 1) or a Fleury and 3rd round pick.

Probably a 1st + B prospect or #4/#5 D + 3rd. No one is going to pay a top prospect or a proven commodity for a non-physical 3rd liner

a non-physical 3rd liner with 31 points in 45 games, which would lead your team in points by 7. very bad way of looking at him. sure he plays on the 3rd line, but its a line with jvr and bozak, so its definitely not a traditional "checking" 3rd line. its more of a 2nd line playing on the 3rd line, but getting 2nd line minutes. he is 21 years old, cost-controlled and is a very good playmaker.

McDavid and a 1st

Take Chiarelli and give us your management team and you can have the defensively putrid generational player.

3 year of his 8 year extension people will be asking if he’s worth the cap hit and worthy of being claimed via waivers.

The talent is there. The desire isn’t already. He could be the Deron Williams of the NHL

That's because he doesn't want to be in Edmonton and still wishes he had been drafted by the Leafs.

Is a Mariner different then a marlin? If so which is better?
well the mariners haven't made the playoffs in 16 seasons despite fielding pretty good teams on paper. they are the epitome of "good team on paper doesn't mean good team in terms of results". the marlins on the other hand haven't made the playoffs in 13 seasons and have never won a division title, yet they have won 2 world series as a wc team, including beating the yankees in 2003. however, they are in a tailspin right now as they seem to be trading every good player away. so right now i'd say the mariners are better.

He’s a defensive liability feeding off JVR and Bozak’s skills. As soon as these two are gone his production will follow.

He’s Eberle V 2.0 and he will fetch a similar return in a couple of years.
