Right. But if you’ve ever played hockey, you know 2 things:

1) you never turn the puck over at either blue line. It’s just a recipe for disaster.
2) physical mistakes happen. It’s the mental mistakes you need to worry about.

Benn isn’t terrible for what he is. He’s not great either, but that’s why he’s a 7th defensemen.

I don’t think Benn has been as bad as he looked in preseason or that first period. I don’t mind him playing games in February.

I’m not convinced that Addison is anything more than a third pairing PP specialist at the NHL level. I’d certainly like to see a consistent stretch of him playing at this level but he is hurt. I’d rather see the Benn of the majority of the year play over the Mermis’ of the world.

I have. The turnover wasn't great, but we were in no danger of getting scored on until Benn fell down. But whatever.

Lets be honest here, if there is one thing the Benn brothers have in common is they are both worth about half their paycheck this season. Massive injuries have him playing too much and it really shows. We should be developing addison because he clearly has a future.
