hmmmm, my guess...5.75M (2.875M AAV)

EDIT: 2.55AAV is a pretty decent signing by MIN... now we have a better idea for Ceci, with a 2yrs and a 6yrs signed today

It took me like 3-4 years to jump from 39k to 45k + bonuses. The money these guys make to start and then the extensions following the ELC now these days are just crazy.

It's a different world I know, but just crazy when you truly think about it.

If you think about that fact that anyone in the NHL making over 1M is in the top 500 in the world at what they do, its really not that crazy. If you look at almost any profession and look at the top 500 in the world, they are likely all making north of 1M.

Maybe they should! It's truly amazing...but not really.

Yeah I know.

Not to be mistaken for whining. On the other hand, even when you do think about non-NHL stars, you still make good bank in Switzerland, Sweden, Russia etc.

Just about what most on the Wild board figured. Competent signing by both sides.

If he can lock down a PP spot, he should be good for 10-15 goals, and 25-40 points over those years. And if he can prove competent in his own zone for 18-21 minutes per game as well, that should get him very well paid on his next one.

Very good deal for the Wild. I thought he would get more than that. I had him in the 3.5mil region.

Thats not true at all. Ofc this is true for big sports in USA or big sports worldwide but in smaller worldwide sports like skiing, skijumping, biathlon etc only the top atheletes make alot of money.

Really, this is peanuts compared to what NBA players are making.

High end baseball players like pitchers make good money to play every 5 days, or closers who play 1 inning, or a DH who just has to hit the ball (easy to type that I know)

So likely expansion pick for Vegas or can the Wild protect him?

Honestly they could end up protecting him and leaving Scandella and Brodin out there unprotected to shed a little extra salary. But there's so much that can happen between then and now that it's impossible to know.

As for the deal, seems right about fair. No complaints here.

Pretty fair to me:

Barring trades, i suspect thats what happens. Unprotect Sandella and Brodin. Whatever one is left plays 2nd pair LHD.
