-Since the start of the new millennium, the Metro has won 6.

-It doesnt matter if you use last year, last 2 years, last 10 years, since the year 2000, since the year 1990, the Metro has basically been clowning other conferences. And now the Metro teams are forced to eliminate each other. Everyone gets all over Washington for not being successful and going deep but the reality is they would be going a lot further in the playoffs if they didnt have to deal with the Penguins every year.

Interesting how the Metro "has been clowning other conferences since 1990".
So they started doing that 23 years before the division even existed.

See it as CLB/PIT/CAR/PHI making playoffs. Everyone always bets on 5 teams, but in such a competitive division it'll be hard to rack up points like the Atlantic can on MTL, DET and BUF

For the record, I think the Metro is clearly the most competitive division in the league today. Who knows how far WSH would go if they didn't face Pittsburgh every year, or their old nemesis the Rangers?

Central is also solid top wise, but the depth isn't the same.

Since now the "new" metric is when the metro was created and not what the metro teams have done, which was win constant stanley cups, , the metro was created in 2013 for the 2014 Stanley Cup Champion, the Metro has since

-Won 2 Stanley Cups
-Had 3 Presidents Trophy Winners
-Has played in 3 of the last 4 Stanley Cup Finals
-Has had the most playoff teams of any division

-Since we are now talking only since the Metro was created, the dominance is even more skewed toward the metro beating up your favorite conference.
