Agree or disagree?

I personally disagree. He was held scoreless in his last game. He only has a two point lead over Shea Weber and the latter is a defenseman. His team is also lower in the standings. Shea Weber is the best skater and leading scorer as a defenseman on a team that has yet to lose in regulation.

Dubnyk just posted 3 shutouts in a row.

If October had ended last week, yeah, I would have given him the first star.

Weber and Jonathan Marchessault are second and third respectively.

Dubnyk started the season with a .875 S% and 3.05 GAA. It was only his first 2 games, but that's 25% of his games in the month.

Its really just between Weber and McDavid, and McDavid outproduced him and led a perennial bottom-feeder to tops of the conference. Weber basically just did what Weber does. Voters are probably a bit desensitized to his skills, as odd as that sounds. Plus, having Price come back probably makes voters look at the standings a bit differently, since he is widely considered the best goalie on the planet.

I can see arguments both ways, but the fact that McDavid led the Oilers to out of the suck and into respectability right off the bat probably tilted the argument in his favour.
