Pictures instead of video, why? Money?
Man I just chose not to get involved with the video footage , that’s all . But I do warn that in all my video titles especially for fights . It’s probably a dumb idea to begin with idk , I just did a couple before and a couple people liked them and wrote me about it so I made some more .

I think the correct way to call this one would have been 4 for roughing to Domi and 2 to Nino. If you want to only give fighting to one guy you also have to give him an instigator and a 10 minute misconduct too.

The correct thing would have been to call it 2 instigating + 5 fighting + 10 misconduct + game misconduct + match miconduct + lawsuit + criminal assault charges, then review during intermission and reduce it to just the game misconduct but not any of the other stuff.

The attempt at comedy by the commentator is cringe level at best. Just not very well thought out imo, trying too hard to be funny.

Its just a video about you, "listen" to me. Keep doing it and have fun dude, but why are they on the main board.

I feel like this guy is the master of throwing the first punch before the other guy is even ready. Fight like a man and square up or don't fight at all.

The thing is -- that stuff happens roughly a dozen of times every game, sometimes even more than that, and both were going at it in equal measure.
There shouldn't be a dozen of fights in a single game.
Why would there not be ?? In the past players werent slashing and crosschecking as much in fear of having to fight tough guys and it was all fine and dandy now a big guy like Nino slashes a smaller guy and gets what he asked for and you blame a guy like Domi ?? If it was just me all of these unecessary slashes would warrant a penalty but since refs dont call everything its great to see a man having enough of it dropping them mits and make his own justice. Double minor and move on or suffer the consequences of doing nothing. This shit show is on the refs not applying the rulebook.

He does this quite regularly for sure. I think pretty soon he's possibly going to get burned. I can see a bigger guy taking notice to this , and do the same to him, potentially humiliating him and possibly even teaching him a valuable lesson.
I noticed that too. He acts as if no one's allowed to hit him, but it has backfired at least once lol.

How should the refs have penalized this play? Can they even give just one fighting major? They give Nino a fighting major when he kept his gloves on and wasn't a willing combatant. Doesn't make any sense.

Should have been a double minor to domi for roughing in my opinion and nothing to niedereiter

Penalize both for slashing and be done with it. Domi getting 2 or 2x2 on top of that.

I agree that, had were slashes called, it would not have gotten further

As a 3rd party observer, that’s an absolutely clear cut instigator penalty. Which should be an instigating minor, a fighting major, and a 10 minute misconduct. You could still give Nino a major for fighting, if you thought he fought, but personally I’m not sure he did.

The NHL rulebook is very clear about this being instigating:

An instigator of an altercation shall be a player who by his actions or demeanor demonstrates any/some of the following criteria: distance traveled; gloves off first; first punch thrown; menacing attitude or posture; verbal instigation or threats; conduct in retaliation to a prior game (or season) incident; obvious retribution for a previous incident in the game or season
[TBODY] [/TBODY]
It wasn’t just “gloves off first” and “first punch thrown,” Nino never took his gloves off, period, and Domi was throwing for awhile before Nino finally defended himself.

With that being said ... the refs never actually call it. Instigating and cross checking are two things that are technically illegal, but almost never enforced. While the kinds of extremely light taps they’re calling “slashing” today is insane. NHL reffing is a shit show, the refs in many cases largely ignore the rulebook.
