Actually liked him as a player, and thought at the time was a very solid pickup. He was pretty solid for us when he came in and brought in some physicality on the back end. He was a great player in his prime, and even his last season in Tampa at his worst was still decent to above average. I hope he has a wonderful retirement and stay healthy. Best of luck to him!
It's a damn shame what happened to him. Getting him was the only move that OK Hockey EVER did right. Who knows how Hedman would've turned out without Mattias there to guide his development.
