That's the thing with coaches. There is no salary cap for them, so an owner with deep pockets can go crazy there to get the best candidates.

I mean... a lot of Giants fans don't want to hear it, but the main reason they have been so bad for so long despite having tons of high draft picks is that they refused to consider changing QBs, even though Eli at his very best was very average ten years ago. You can get all of the nice draft picks and a wonderful running back, but if your QB is a bottom half QB, you're not making the playoffs on a regular basis.

If you want to be mad at the organization about anything, it should be hitching their wagon to Eli for the past eight or nine seasons.

Smart call to take the once in a lifetime offer. $60 million guaranteed unless you do something absolutely stupid conduct wise.

Offer likely comes with control over picking his GM, something likely the Giants were not going to do. See how it works out for him.

So, we are now down to Cleveland without a HC.

NFC South is pretty wide open. Saints - Brees is 40 so getting close to the end for him. Winston is a 30-30 guy for TDS/INT, and Ryan hasn't been the same in the past 3 seasons since winning MVP.

See what they decide to do at QB.

If you truly want a coach, you spend the money, but my goodness. $60 million in guaranteed salary, along with a $6 million buyout to the college. $66 million for 7 years pushes it up to $9.43 million average per season at a minimum.
