For all the people wondering about what happened to Nieto. Nothing really. He is exactly what he was last year. A fast and solid bottom-6 player who is good defensively. Unfortunately, his offense is just not there.

The Sharks are loaded with bottom-6 players like Nieto (or better). We have a couple of AHL players who should be called up as well.

Dang, SJ fans said he was untouchable a few seasons ago.

Not saying it didn't happen, but man that seems like a reach, I do not recall Nieto ever being that highly regarded, being as he had little offensive pop.

Dang, SJ fans said he was untouchable a few seasons ago.

He was a young speedy guy with good potential. A potential second liner good for 40ish points and PK duty. He never really progressed from his rookie year; he had major finishing and puck control issues that people thought would improve.

Moreover, the Sharks's prospect pool use to be so dilapidated, that Nieto was probably a little overhyped.

No Oilers fans. Just no. Caggiula and Slepyshev need to get some NHL ice time so there's no room for some romantic union with McLellan

Nieto is going to get snapped up pretty quickly... doubt he makes it past more than 10 teams in terms of waiver priority.

Shame... he would look great on the Flyers.

Interesting. 99% chance he gets claimed by a team, he's a solid bottom sixer.
