Not surprising he is expected to produce offence and having no points in 14 games does not help.

Sucks for Matt but this was long overdue. He's been the least effective even strength player in the league for a couple years now, it's like he lost all his hockey abilities except shooting.

Feel for him. Great guy, but it has been downhill now for a while.
Same. Really surprised to see his game fall off as rapidly as it has. Just hasn't been the same since he was an Islander. Tavares deserves some credit, but 3 straight 30 goal seasons and nearly a ppg in the lockout year means he had the ability to finish on his own.

Guy had a good run for quite a while but with no points thus far this season the Sabres made the right choice here IMO.

I just can't see anyone taking that contract on, had he been a UFA at season end maybe but with another year, forget it

Guy couldn't skate 10 years ago. No idea how he's made it this long in the league.

Claimed by NYI before you know it. Moulson will call his good friend and Snow won't dare to defy the will of JT. Moahahhaha

Wouldn't be surprised to see him in Florida after we pay his signing bonus on July 1st. 5 million cap hit and a 2 million actual salary may be tempting for a cap team with the cap expected to rise almost 5 million. He could be a decent 13th forward and pp presence.

Maybe for McGinn

He should be a buyout candidate. But unless the Sabres are moving ROR and making a run at Tavares, they are in no pressing position for the cap space. He could ride out his contract in Rochester.
