Wish Hanzal didn't have a "I don't give a ****" attitude all the time. I wish he was more mean and aggressive, giving lots of *****.

Yeah Hanzal has to stay. It's never worth arguing his value anyway since all outsiders see are 3rd line stats, injury history and suspensions. At least OEL garners good offers. If we traded Hanzal we'd immediately pine for him and be placing all our hopes on MacInnis to be "the next Hanzal".
Gaudet as well.

It all depends on the return.... Hanzal isn't untouchable. Just expensive.
I would take him on Vancouver so fast it's not even remotely funny.
It would take a lot more than you are comfortable with. Horvat, 1st +
Horvat and a 1st for Hanzal?

OEL maybe, but Hanzal? come on now.
.....and the point is proven.
Currently pulling an all-nighter road trip and this exchange will have me giggling all the way to Texas ...

Was checking out the Carolina forum. Some pretty funny cracks in their "Around the NHL" thread, getting patronised by Jets fans, the Dallas lists and their draft pick Zepp working out.

Anyway to get to the point, I remember we used to compare Hanzal's abilities to Jordan Staal which always scandalised Pens fans, Canadians in general and the Eastern hockey watchers. So we quit upsetting them with kicking that hornet's nest.

Interestingly however they have virtually identical points totals in the last 2 seasons since Jordan moved from the powerhouse Pens to the Canes.

Staal
2012-13 48gp 10-21-31pts -18
2013-14 82gp 15-25-40pts +2
2014-15 injured

Total 130gp 25-46-71pts -16

Hanzal
2012-13 39gp 11-12-23pts +2
2013-14 65gp 15-25-40pts -9
2014-15 27gp 6-11-17pts +1

Total 131gp 31-48-79pts -6

Jordan Staal was traded for Brandon Sutter (11th overall), Brian Dumoulin and the 8th overall pick. A pretty big return. I wouldnt expect to get two top 10 picks for Hanzal (the Pens lucked out that Carolina was determined to reunite the Staals) but certainly I dont want to see him traded cheaply.
