They’re held to far different standards for whatever reason.

Marner would/will have to do so much more, for so much longer to earn 1/10th of the stature that is so easily just handed to Matthews.

Considering He’s nearly avg a ppg his entire career. More than a ppg last season and plays a premium position. The answer is less.

It doesn’t matter if you think his worth is more or less. The market sets the price. Someone was willing to pay him that therefore that is his worth. Just like the housing market up until last year and the previous 5 years houses went to multiple offers and to the highest bidder. Someone was willing to pay top dollar and outbid the competition...
