Are you adding your 1st rounder on top of that? Because Marleau certainly doesn't have any value, especially not to the point of getting Braun back for him.

Marleau's still a fine 3rd liner and being paid $3.25 million for a 1 year 3rd liner isn't bad. If they're up against the cap, that may present issues (don't know their cap situation), but Marleau at $3.25 million in theory isn't a problem. It's like the Penguins having Chris Kunitz at $3.85 million in 2016-2017, that's not a problem unless you absolutely need cap space for other things.

I beg to differ , that ship between San Jose and Marleu sailed when they opted to move on.

3.85 million is a lot of money to waste on a 3rd line player who's best days and health are behind him in salary cap , as well as younger faster league.

The Marleau contract is good for a team looking to save cash going out. After his bonus on July 1st he gets paid 1.25 million dollars with a 6.25 cap hit. A 5 million dollar savings would sound good to an owner depending on a team

Absolutely. The problem is will a team looking to cut costs sound good to Marleau with his NMC?
