He's not very good, so I agree. I just hope they don't give him games he doesn't earn in Utica, because Jokie earned his starters role there and to this point looks the better prospect (although south paw goalies are mind ****s for me).

Not unexpected. With Miller being signed to term and Lack being lights out so far, there was no room for a 3rd goalie, and Markstrom's value in a trade wasn't exactly high.

Hopefully he clears waivers, although that would create another goalie crunch in Utica; both Eriksson and Cannata were solid down there last year.

Smart move to waive him now. With all the preseason injuries, it is only a matter of time before some team loses a starter and needs a goalie.
He might get claimed, anyway...but there is a better chance of getting him through now than later.
