You only forgot to mention the part about the refs letting them play and not calling any penalties in said Game 7.

:D
I absolutely LOVED that game. Didn't do my circulation any favors, my chest was literally aching from puck drop to final whistle, but it was probably the most amazing display of hockey skill I've ever watched. The whole series was great, but 2011 ECF Game 7 has a special place in my heart and always will.

People overfondle the phrase instant classic. That was an instant classic, one of the all time great playoff games, probably the game I've rewatched most ever since.

I think it's crazier that this defence clocks in at under $15M. Haven't (won't bother) gone through the other teams but Boston might have the cheapest defence in the NHL.

That's what happens when the youth movement checks in before the last of the veterans check out.

The Bruins have done an impressive job of developing their young defensemen. When you've got 3-4 different guys arriving ahead of schedule, including the future leader of the defense in Charlie McAvoy, all coming into their own in the same 2 year window, while the last of the old guard is still here to share wisdom and take pressure off the kids, that's a great piece of work by both the front office and the coaching staff

I like the way the 5 year plan is shaking out for this defense.

Bergeron 1 goal away from 30 with 5 games left. Last line to have every player get 30 goals in a season was Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson back in 2007/08.

Crazy thing is, they might do it for 3 or 4 years in row after this.

Could you imagine a line scoring 500 in a 5 year span?

It’s absolutely crazy to me that Bergeron and Toews both signed there monster deals 1 year apart

And we locked up Bergeron at 6.8 mill per and Chicago had to give Toews 10.5 mill per

Especially since I think Bergeron is a more talented player

Career Averages

Bergeron 25G 37A 62P
Toews 30G 39A 69P

30 Goal Seasons
Bergeron- 3
Toews- 2

Season above 60 Points
Bergeron- 5 (2 70 pt years)
Toews- 5 (1 70 pt year)
Toews was voted in top 100 as was Keith which is absurd

Yup. We just gotta get Charlie and Grizz signed to a team friendly deals this offseason and we should be a dynasty for the next 4-5 years.

Mixed effort from this line today to say the least, but all 3 at 30 is a pretty big accomplishment IMO. It's just rare to have that type of versatility on a line where they can all score and pass at a high level. Usually you're seeing 1, maybe 2 scorers on a line at most, and the others handling the playmaking and/or dirty work. There's a good reason it hasn't been done in 10 years.

Marchand 34 goals in 64 games
Pastrnak 33 goals in 78 games
Bergeron 30 goals in 60 games

And look at the games played. That's even more impressive.

Bruins are in very good condition for the next season. After that GM must show his magical mind and sign two expensive RFAs - McAvoy and Carlo. Plus UFA McQuaid. And RFAs forwards Donato and Heinen. That will mess things a little bit. And the question is, what will Zdeno Chara do?

Bergeron on pace for 41 :(

I really believe 41-41-82 or better would have landed him the MVP. What a shame

Just keep getting better. Unfortunately two big injuries both of the last 2 years, but it makes you think they could all challenge for 100 points if they played a full season.

18.5 mill

Kucherov only has 1 year left though

He will probably get anywhere between 8-10 million on his next deal

he already has a deal lined up.... and a bargain also if you think about it

Lightning though are not out of the woods if Point is not going to give the team a hometown discount

Almost 6 million in space is another top 6 winger/#2 D.

No doubt Crosby/Malkin/Kessel are great, but our trio + space for another top 6 winger/top pair D is fine with me!!

Or David Backes. It’s great having that financial flexibility from that first line, but need to continue to spend money well in other places, which so far hasn’t happened.
