Marc Bergevin - Would I lie to you Edition
What’s a plan !?I wonder if we actually have a plan for our unused cap space...
What’s a plan !?
What's a natural Center?

Its Radulov or Markov but not both....
Not if you don't sign Alzner/Hemsky/Streit.
Markov one year at 6 Mil and Radu 5x 6.75 = 12.75
Alzner = 5.25
Cap space = 8 million and change.
Pacioretty - Drouin - Gallagher
Lekhonen - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Byron - Danault - Hudon
DLR - McCarron - Shaw
Markov - Weber
Mete - Petry
Schlemko - Jerabek
Davidson
Looks much better to me than what we are currently icing.
At this point any hockey trade would send cap the other way anyway. I could see the Habs trading for expiring contracts from teams that need cap space, that about it. This fiasco will maybe give the team a couples of picks if they play their cards right. Big IF. Nothing I seen in the last five years give me confidence that Marc Bergevin is capable of properly handling assets.I wonder if we actually have a plan for our unused cap space...
I doubt there's one specific and defined plan to use that cap space.I wonder if we actually have a plan for our unused cap space...
I doubt there's one specific and defined plan to use that cap space.
Rather, that cap space is available for several different eventualities.
Whether or not those eventualities come to fruition, is anyone's guess really.
would you want him to have one specific plan? So, nothing. Okay.

I hate giving him any sort of credit, but I do think he at least had SOME sort of plan when he took the job in 2012 but the good season we had in the shortened period threw it off. He wasn't a good GM to realize he still should have stayed the course with the plan, though, and he wasn't a good GM in that he got way too loyal to a coach that was carried by his goaltender for so long. The only "Plan" Bergevin had was to make millions of dollars for himself... Trust me.. there was never a professional "plan" to build a contender... he's clueless and hit the GM lottery...Believe me.
Trust me, I think we're all aware of the egregious faults that come with Bergevin as a GM and just how bad he actually is. I'm just saying that I think back in 2012, he at least had SOME sort of plan in mind but seeing as he's not a good GM, he allowed his personal feelings and relationships get in the way of building a winner and essentially threw it all out so now we're stuck with a GM who changes plans every summer.Pierre "Story Teller" McGuire was the better man for the job trust me.. Yes he loves to talk a lot but at least he understands how to fix a team's needs, and how to evaluate players and put them in the proper situations, he is also not a dumpster diver like MB is... Believe me.
Three Habs have won the Norris since 1965: Robinson, Chelios and Subban. The first was snubbed by Bergy in favour of J.J. Daigneault for coaching duties; the second was traded by Savard for an older local who didn't work out (surprise!); and the third traded by you-know-who also for an older guy.
Three Norris winners in 50 years and three corresponding failures by the Habs front office. (And then there's the trio of McDonagh Markov & Sergachev...)
Bergy is not some anomaly this is the way the Habs operate.
Bergevin isn't a great GM, but he's not that bad.
