Bibeau's fall from grace is disappointing.

I had really high hopes for this kid. His M-Cup year was amazing. Hope he battles through and ekes out a career somewhere.

Such is the way of prospects.

Bibeau goes from QMJHL playoff MVP on the way to the Mem Cup and seen as promising draft pick and prospect and 3 years later Leafs are cutting him loose, feeling he isn't worth any more time and development cost invested and a 1/50 contracts.

Moral of the story is all prospects are suspects until proven otherwise. A good junior career is not a guarantee beyond that point.

I was also one of the people pretty high on Bibeau. He had a great junior career and looked like a steal for a 6th round pick. He probably felt like once he had his ELC that he "made it", felt accomplished and stopped working as hard. It's a shame.
