With the Dale Weise trade, possibly a last trade before the TDL for a 4th line Centre and the return of Byron, which one of these players do you think will be playing on the 4th line between:

Lehkonen
Byron
Shaw
Armia

I would go with
Byron - TDLcentre - Weise

or if trade fails
Agostino/Dlo - Shaw - Weise

*My first thread ever, please be nice!*

Shaw has been playing great up the line-up, but he's the only one that plays C of that group. The other lines are also rolling pretty well and that would cause the least disturbance.

Drouin - Danault - Gallagher
Tatar - Domi - Byron
Lehkonen - Kotka - Armia
DLo - Shaw - Weise

Would be something I'm not surprised to see

Lehkonen, Byron and Armia should not play on the 4th line. Eck. Kotka should probably still play with Lehk and Armia.

I still haven’t voted yet because I don’t know. All the guys you named have not deserve a “demotion.” I’m just not sure.

Chemistry will obviously be important. Shaw has been so good on the top lines, he won’t be on line 4, plus not as good as a center.

I really like the thread title @Holystik

Some names I've heard/read for that fourth line are Derek Grant out of Anaheim and Glendening out of Detroit. Would like either one, although I think Glendening would be a more productive addition, whereas Grant would be a more punishing one.

For the posters wanting Shaw 4C, which I am not for or agains't, his faceoff rates are.

Career: 47.9%
Last year: 43.58%

This is where Glendening could be a huge boost.

#1- He's a right shooting center. Danault, Domi, and Kotkaniemi are all leftys.
#2- Great face-off man. He's averaging 56.3% so far this season. He was at 58% last season (and has been 0ver 50% every season so far except his rookie season, where he was 48.5%).

Glendening is gonna cost a lot IMO, I heard the Leafs are after that guy also and probably some other teams...

Bergevin will probably find another Torrey Mitchell out there for cheap.

Shaw can play at center but he's a lot more effective when he plays on the wing. Even if we can't find a center I would probably still keep Shaw on the wing and keep Chaput in the lineup.

Seems like a nice 4C to add. The problem is I wouldn't want to pay more than:

2nd round pick

OR

2rd round pick + B prospect at maximum.

More than that and I'd rather not trade.
Almost sure Wings would not accept that. Definetly not Wings HFfans.

I don’t think Grant is an upgrade but Glendening go ! Maybe Brad Richardson could be an option to

Honestly, I have no idea why they released Plekanec.

Give me old man Plekasex over Chaput any day of the week.

Now we have to trade for 4th line center...

Maybe we can convince Manny Malhotra to come out of retirement, exactly what we need for a 4th line centre :sarcasm:

I don't see the Finn line being broken up. So either one of Byron or Shaw will end up on the 4th line.

Basically who ever is playing better will end up with Domi. Lets keep our fingers crossed though that we can stay healthy.

Having a 4th line of DLo - Shaw - Weise would be fun to watch, they can contribute some goals, but mainly play energy hockey and run mofo's over.
I hope Weise's still got it though.

Rumours are that Bergevin is in contact with Mathieu Darche to come out of retirement and replace Dlo on the 4th line.

From those guys, Byron and Armia are the only who looked good playing on the 4th line.
I would go with Byron since he can create his own offense through his speed

I wouldn't want to pay that much for a short term fix.
