:rangers

Following the recent trend of other threads.

The Rangers are still entrenched in their rebuild but perhaps may be turning a corner with a massive influx of picks and prospects over the last 2-3 seasons and not many prime assets in position to be sold off.

NYR would be looking for hockey deals for a Young Top 4 defenseman and a young top 6 forward and more picks and prospects depending on the value of the asset. They also would like to move up into the 6-14 range of the draft if a deal presents itself.

Untouchables: #2 overall pick, Mika Zibanejad, Vitali Kravtsov, K’Andre Miller, Adam Fox

Assets on the block****: Chris Kreider, Vlad Namestnikov, Jimmy Vesey, Ryan Strome, Neal Pionk, Kevin Shattenkirk, Brendan Smith, Marc Staal, #20 overall (not keen on moving unless used to move up or for a prime young asset)

Guys like Buchnevich and Skjei and other assets not listed above can be had for the right price if it’s a deal that makes sense for the Rangers.

In addition, the Rangers will take on cap dumps from other teams that are cap strapped if it means acquiring a young asset as a reward and/or retain salary on players to make deals more attractive.

2nd overall and Kriender for 1st overall

better to build around a C then winger Hughes as 1C would be nice.

Literally the only bolded words in the entire OP are “#2 overall pick” RIGHT BESIDE the word “Untouchable” to place emphasis on the degree to which it was untouchable and the first proposal in this thread is a trade for said asset.

You wouldn’t trade the 2nd overall for McDavid+? If you would it’s not untouchable

Usually people refer to insults when they are not intelligent enough to come up with an valid argument. What I proposed is a fair trade.

It’s not a fair trade and it is not a trade either team makes. As has been stated on this board numerous times every time a thread pops up making a proposal for one of the top 2 picks. Teams never make deals like this, especially not divisional rivals.

Your response insinuating an offer for McDavid that would never in a million years exist, was beyond obtuse.

The fact is what I said is valid build around a Center is MUCH more effective then a winger.
