Assuming that Fleury doesn't report to Chicago maybe there is a potential deal that could be made with the Pens...Hawks could potentially retain money and would probably want roster player(s) in return, Bowman doesn't appear interest in future pieces at the moment...What would Pittsburgh be willing to part with to acquire Fleury?

Chicago got Fleury for free, so why are we assuming that they'd get anything of value for him right now?

Jarry for Fleury at $5 million is the best I'd go. The Hawks get a good platoon option to play with Lankinen and only get a $2 million cap penalty for next year.

Is there news I’m missing? Does flower not want to go there?

In any case, we would have to send cap back. Either Pettersson+DeSmith or Jarry straight up

edit: the post above me posted the link. Wow. Chicago seems on the up not sure why Flower says no. I would very happily take him back in Pitt

Buffalo gets Pettersson and Pitt 2022 2nd rounder, Hawks get Jarry, Pens get Fleury at full salary

Buffalo has 37m in space and could use a player on D according to cap friendly

Why are the Pens giving up a 2nd rounder? Pettersson doesn't have negative value. No picks are leaving the Pens if MAF's salary isn't retained.

We will see how this plays out. Don’t see the hawks pressuring him for a answer. Really don’t think they’ll be in the free agent market.

Maybe they’ll give MAF a extension for piece of mind.

There is conflicting reports. On our board there was a tweet that the Pens have no interest in Fleury so it looks like retirement is in the cards.

Regarding your post I agree. Hextall is stingy about giving up picks. Unlike JR

I don't think that makes anything better. He just doesn't want to play for Chicago.

Who's giving up the 2nd in this situation? Pens give up Pettersson, Jarry and a 2nd, only to get MAF at full price? Why is Buffalo even involved here? If the Pens are taking Fleury at full price, the deal can be made directly with CHI.

Now, something like this:

CHI - Jarry
PIT - Fleury (50% retained by BUF)
BUF - Pettersson, Pens 2nd

Is more workable.

Nothing. MAF isn't that type of player. He will go to Chicago and perform great and have a smile doing it. Pitt missed the boat again..not sure they even have a GM currently on payroll??? He is on holidays??? With so many holes to fills who would think he would attempt to plug something

I bet the Hawks are in. Make the Hawks give Buffalo the 2nd.

Ron Hextall is the GM.

Wow ...you wouldn't know this!!!!

How does bringing in a near 40 year old Fleury help the Pens? The Pens need to start rebuilding. If it’s to allow him to retire in Pittsburgh, sure, but now is not the time with that contract. Pens need to look to the future, and that certainly doesn’t include Fleury.

Pens need to start accumulating draft picks. How many times have they drafted in the first round the past 15 years? Their prospect pool is abysmal.

Would only be right he wins #500 in this uniform.

Last time we won a Cup he was on the damn roster and shut out Washington in game 7 so people should be all for it at this point if the cost is nothing more than Jarry....
