People forgot how skilled he is.
He looks faster as well. He was quick last year, but man does he look even quicker this year. Combine that extra jump with his already great puck skills and shiftiness, and he's just slipping guys all over the ice. They said during the game today that he put on about 6 lbs of muscle this summer, and it shows.

Both our young lads had some major gains this offseason.

Bratt seems like he is on fire for sure. But the same thing happened last season so lets see if he can keep up his stamina this year
I thought he played pretty well last year for 30-40 games. If he can jump that up to even 50-60, that would be a nice increase in his production as well and a nice stepping stone in his development.

finally, a thread where we can discuss bratt

Your snarkiness is noted.

He's really becoming an absolute GEM that Shero/Castron unearthed in the 6th round, hasn't he?

Well he did say he was working on his stamina during the offseason.

Let's see if that pays off.....

One thing that I think many here would agree is that Bratt is a bit more PHYSICAL than he was last season.

If you noticed that many times he'd FINISH his checks while trying to get the puck instead of floating.

Was very pleased to see that.

He's still a unicorn. It's impossible to make projections on his development because there are literally no comparable players. No 6th round pick has ever done what he has so far.

im just glad to see that it looks like he bounced back from whatever plagued him the latter half of last season. looks like the real deal which was completely up in the air

Yep. Some here were not sure prior to this preseason if the Bratt we saw in the first half last season was the real Bratt or was it the 2nd half version?

I think we got our answer and it's very encouraging.

I think you can argue Bratt at his best last season was more impactful offensively than Nico at his best last season. I’m talking only offensively, not overall game.
Bratt's best offensive work last year was on the PP. And if we keep in specifically PP, then clearly he was better then Nico.

But 5v5 Nico was always better.

A dream come true for Jesper to play in his home country in a NHL game.

Snuffed away by an unfortunate bounce

I feel bad for the kid

Even though it's a Fractured Jaw and he'd be out two to three weeks, AT LEAST it's :

1.) Not a concussion(Knock on Miles Wood)

and

2.) Not a Hand/Arm/Leg/Foot injury that could hamper his speed and stick-control.

It's frustrating for ME 'cause I am one of the biggest Bratt fans here but at least it won't have any long-term effects on his playing ability.

I'd like to know who fractured his Jaw or how it happened......

EDIT : Nevermind. Found out :

Bratt on IR per team twitter fractured jaw sustained in practice by a puck off the cross bar.:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

I swear if Bratt didn't have Bad luck, he'd have no luck at all.

smh.
