All I've heard is that he's an expected high pick for the 2015 OHL Draft...but so was Jared Staal in his year.

He didn't make team Ontario for the Canada Games team, so he likely isn't on the same level as his brothers at the same age.

He's 6'2" already so that's a good frame to build on and he's certainly coming from good bloodlines...

Asked about him a while back in some other thread. Apparently he's not as good as the other brothers and, like them, his skating is a work in progress. Should still be a decent player when it's all said and done though I would assume.

At this point in time, absolutely zero chance Matt Strome becomes as good as his brothers. He has good height and a good frame to build on, but his skating is more than just a work in progress, it's downright bad. He has good hockey sense and knows where to be, but just lacks the footspeed to get there a lot of the time. He is good along the wall though and has some jam to his game. I don't think he has the skill his brothers had either, but shows some good vision while in possession. I think he's a second-third round pick this year, but will probably struggle mightily next year if he plays as a 16 year old. Other than his name, I don't see him being much of a prospect for the 2017 NHL Draft.

I don't think Matt compares favourably with Ryan or Dylan. He is obviously less talented at the same age and has the weakest skating of the them as well. I view him as a possible 2nd round guy in this draft, and that's only if he can fix his skating. In terms of ceiling/potential, I would rank them:

Dylan
Ryan

Matt

Captained his team to the OHL Cup by scoring the winner and adding an assist.

Just for comparison's sake:

Ryan - 76 GP - 41 G - 63 A - 104 PTS
Dylan - 60 GP - 65 G - 78 A - 143 PTS
Matthew - 64 GP - 23 G - 37 A - 60 PTS

Might end up with a similar amount of points as Dylan's rookie season. I wonder how close the two are at the same stage, never watched Matthew play. The previous post made it seem like they're worlds appart but Matthew is having a pretty good rookie season, among the top of all 99 born rookies.
