I don't know if it's good to make a thread about undrafted player but..

Markus Hännikäinen scored 2 goals tonight. He has been awesome, so good in every game. So far this season 24gp 10+8 and +13. Best +- in his team.

I wonder if he will get an NHL contract at summer. My friend also said he is awesome two-way player. What he said to me sounds exactly like NHL player. Not lazy and he works hard at every night.

Some goals:

One assist:
Jani Tuppuraisen 2-0 maali, 21.10.2014

He didn't get a good chance with Jokerit when was his draft year. He was earlier in this year at a CBJ camp.

Wouldn't be surprised if Columbus signs him since he already went to their camp and Kekäläinen has followed him closely in Jokerit and is fully aware of his potential. He is a very special player who has taken the league by storm and surprised everyone here in Jyväskylä. Forms a great duo with Jani Tuppurainen who is very similar player IMO with great speed but Hännikäinen has that extra grit that will make him an NHLer at some point, mark my words.

I don't know if his playing style has changed in JYP, but damn he really played with his head down all the time in Jokerit.

Good for him. Judging from his WJC career i would have not guessed this. He looked then just a speedy fourth liner with very limited puck skills.

certainly wouldn't mind if Markus was the CBJ's Euro FA signing this year, although the past 2 Jarmo brought in didn't work out so well.. (Ilari Melart in 2013 (left AHL for KHL) and Simon Hjalmarsson in 2014 (left AHL for SHL))

Markus is at least still really young with many good years ahead of him, whether those years are spent in North America or Europe

Truly believe he makes the jump to NA next season and signs a 2 way contract with CBJ... playing in AHL most of the season, adjusting to the ice.

He ended the regular season with 46 points (19+27) in 60 games. First in the league in +- and 9th in the league in points.

Happy to be wrong :). Though there was reason to doubt him. When he played in Jokerit he was just grinder without any puck skills. But his work ethic is one of the best i've seen and its now produced results. Though euro 3-4 line grinders dont usually have very long careers in NHL.
