He is helping the tank and likely gets moved for a 4th or 5th this year.
Last year, we thought Vats could bring back a 1st before he got injured. How times have changed.
He is helping the tank and likely gets moved for a 4th or 5th this year.
Traded a handful of games of Vats for Kuokkanen.
That, my friends, is highway robbery.
Though in retrospect, I wish Vats remained in Carolina but that's a different issue entirely.
Fun fact:Koukkanen on his jersey
Fun fact:
Kuokka = mattock in English. So Kuokkanen = Mattocker, very crude translation.
If you typo the name Koukkanen...
Koukata = to hook, with hooking in the ice hockey meaning
Thus, Koukkanen = a hooker, i.e. an ice hockey player that hooks a lot.
Finnish Fun Facts end.
Btw. Check Kuokkanen's +-. He is swell.
Sharangovich because he is a goalscorer. So who do you think has more upside? Kuokkanen or Sharangovich?

bb come back and stop leaving usyay finrand!
Quite impressed by his numbers this year. Remember when I saw him in the gold winning team Finland had at U18 WC´s and I liked his potential back then. Ahokas trusted him with plenty of ice time and that team had a great roster for a smaller country like Finland with players like Puljujärvi, Heiskanen, Tolvanen, Välimäki, Jokiharju, Vaakanainen, Salo, Nurmi, Vesalainen, Somppi Luukkonen etc.
They actually steamrolled Sweden in the final game. So that could be a sign that these players had something extra, a deeper pool, like more top6 potential among forwards etc than usual. Perhaps why players like Kuokkanen and others did not get that much hype because Finland were quite stacked with players born 98 and 99.
Excited to follow him this year!
Don't forget that Talvitie can become a great role player for you guys in the future as well. He's a horse with big leadership qualities.

You're a Hobbit, aren't you?
you mean (s)elfish. leaving all these fans alone with their fears and hopes.yes
I would def say Im more elfish. not hairy enough to be in the hobbit club.
Another strong game from Janne with two helpers. That line is magically good. I've said it before but they compliment eachother so good. That line has everything. They retrieve pucks so much and get it deep. Travis is a defense first center with good faceoffs, Shara brings in a great shot and some decent wheels and Janne makes simple plays and slows the game down and meshes so well with those 2. And none of them are pushovers either. All got good size and strength. You know what you get from them and you see it from their ice time.
Kuokkanen > Salmela
Anssi is actually playing in the same team with Eetu Päkkilä nowadays. I wonder if he tells the story of his OT winner and how the church was built to Eetu before every practice.Dont you sully the name of the Holy Church of Anssi Salmela! Praise be!
