How is Holtz as a skater? From the two hlinka games I watched he doesn’t seem to have game breaking speed or at least that’s not his style of game. He seems more cerebral in that he likes to take his time to access what plays are developing in front of him. I’ve only seen two games of his so I’m curious how others would’ve watched him more would describe his skating at this stage.

His skating looks like a bit of a weak point in his game. I'm sure he needs to work on his explosiveness, but that is no surprise considering he recently turned 16.

With all respect to Raymond, Holtz and Lafreniere, Byfield could totally go first in 2020. We've gotta wait for him to prove something on the OHL, but being a huge athletic Center gives him quite the advantage over three wingers. I'm also confident Barron will find himself near the top of the draft boards

Yeah I totally agree on that, I wouldn't be surprised if Quinton Byfield goes firt over all. #1 Byfield #2 Lafreniere #3 Holtz looks like a possible draft outcome, even if it's way to early to tell now for obvious reasons.
But I also don't think it's fair to compare Holtz to Lafreniere to much at this stage. One year does a lot at this age. I think we will know a lot more after this up coming season.

Well you can compare tools and skill. It's tough to compare J18 Elit to the Q, but it seems to me that Lafreniere just dominates the play more than Holtz does, almost like a Center would. Skates much better too, which to me seems like Holtz' big weakness. At bare minimum he'll be a great PP sniper. That said, a lack of strength and skating can be overcome by IQ, which Holtz has in spades. Really impressed with how he sees the ice, always a threat to shoot or pass, and he knows it, uses it to keep defenders and goalies honest.

I think he's an average skater. Not a problem in his game, but I guess if you are going to consider him as an elite prospect, you'd want his skating to be better. Laine isn't really better than an average skater either. If you can put 40 in the net per season, average skating plays.

Holtz plays as simple a game as I’ve ever seen out of a draft eligible player. Nothing in his game doesn’t translate to the next level, he literally has the basics mastered.

If you want to project how he’ll be going forward, just put his shot totals against league sv%. He just looks like a 1ppg guy at the NHL at a minimum.

He's part of the teams that is going to compete in CHL this year. Coincidentally, he's also the youngest player in the competition:

#8 Alexander Holtz (RW)

Djurgården Stockholm

I also expect to see him make his SHL debut as the season progresses.

Whats expected by a 16 year old in u20 superelite? Any comparisons?
Looking at some of the first-rounders:
William Nylander: 43 pts in 27 games
Alex Nylander: 40 pts in 42 games
Filip Forsberg: 40 pts in 36 games
Andre Burakovsky: 42 pts in 42 games
Jakub Vrana: 32 pts in 32 games
David Pastrnak: 29 pts in 36 games

Elias Pettersson had 13 pts in 6 games(!), but 14 in 22 the year after.

But also, Rickard Hugg had 43 pts in 42 games and went undrafted and Sebastian Collberg had 44 pts in 35 games...

So holtz and raymond have a chance to be really good players if they score at 1.5 PPG

How did Bratt go so much later than Nylander in that draft
