Hopefully he retires a Ranger and not a rag.He retires a rag.
Number retired.
Legendary hair, also retired.

Ideally he prefers to go chase a cup.
However, if he really does not wanna leave otherwise, this is a situation where politics makes strange bedfellows.
Numbers can be made to work.
Think NY wants and gets a sweetener tho on top of cap relief.
No you won't.I promise you that I will eat @Machinehead pubes if Hank waives for the f*cking Debbies.
Wont.never.ever.happen.
Pretty sure if the price was a second he would have been a leafGeorgiev for a second?

In fairness to Lundqvist, he's been better than his numbers suggest. And the team was dog shit for most of the season. There's lots of GSAA stats and other charts showing looking deeper into it past basic boxcar stats that he's actually been quite good.In what world do the Rangers get ANY value for Lundqvist, even if they do eat half his salary?
He's not a starter anymore. His stats are awful this year - .907 SV% & 3.12 GAA, which is right about where they were last season as well. He's getting badly outplayed by a pair of 24 year olds, including one that's putting up phenomenal stats, so it's hard to say Hank's poor numbers are due to being on a bad team.
What team is going to take a risk and invest at least $4.25MM in cap space on the chance that Lundqvist really isn't as bad as his numbers suggest, especially as he turns 38 in a few weeks?
They either have to trade Georgiev and let Lundqvist mop up next season (which would hurt a team that may have a chance at the playoffs) or buy Lundqvist out, which is probably their best move.
This is value of and not speculation
Has there been any idea floated of him being moved?
It makes a ton of sense for NJD. Schneider is signed for two more seasons and it is highly unlikely he will ever be a competent NHL goaltender again. Paying him 6 million for two more AHL seasons does nothing for the Devils and nothing for Schneider. The buy out next summer would lessen the cap hit to 8 million equally stretched over four seasons. Trading for Lundqvist would result in a 8.5 million cap hit for one season, in which the Devils shouldn't get close to the upper limit and an actual salary of 5.5 million, which would be lower than the buyout amount of Schneider. Lundqvist might even be the goaltender, which would work well in a platoon with Blackwood. So Devils should do this. Why would either team do this? NJ isnt competing for the next 2 years, so Schneiders contract isnt that big of a burden. Then NYR sell lundquist without getting any assets back, the only thing they get is cap relief for 1 year in a year they wont hit the cap? Makes no sense.
Hank would probably retire before something like this came to fruition.
If he would waive for a trade it would be for a contender chasing the cup not for the freaking Devils.

Serious question: Do you get flaming or trolling warnings for those posts or not?Nobody goes to the Devils if they can help it, Hank isn't going to waive for a spot on another rebuilding team. The purpose would be to get rid of Hanks salary, not take on Schneiders.
