Honestly if it wasn’t for his massively inflated contract this would be fine. He’s playing decently well, just can’t score to save his life.

If he gets bought out, I legitimately wonder if he’d get more than league minimum on his next deal.

Maybe a 1x1 to prove he’s still an NHLer

these threads are always gold. theres a few posts after the first that warrant a thoughtful chuckle and then just a wasteland of refuse that follows

Loui Eriksson for Milan Lucic ???

Frees up 6 million a year sooner for the Oil
get a useful no maintenence 3rd liner

Canucks get someone to skate alongside Pettersson from time to time
No. Eriksson is a much more productive player than Lucic. Cement head can stay in Edmonton

Eriksson for Lucic is bad.

Eriksson has one year less left on his contract.

How is this even news? What else would Lucic say publicly? He knows he's untradeable. And he certainly can't say he doesn't want to remain an Oiler.
Just a meaningless sports report filling up space.

anything to get that uninterested piece out of our top9.

I would rather Lucic on the 4th line instead of Schaller who's useless and if we get up by 3 goals he can skate with EP40 and Boeser. At least that would be useful

Whatever 2 horrific contracts.

Everyone’s jokes aside, he’s actually been a very good 3rd liner this year. Hitch has the “identity line” playing some very solid hockey right now.

I still think he’s movable if needed. His salary is substantially lower than his cap hit, so he makes sense for any team with an internal cap. He’s also as healthy as anyone in the league, so there are less concerns about his body breaking down (he’s missed 10 games over the last 9 seasons)
Setting aside all jokes like you said.

The bar for Milan Lucic has been set so incredibly low by some Oiler fans that the simple act of being present seems to be enough.

He's on pace for fewer than 20 points and is the worst defensive player on the team. He's not been remotely close to a good 3rd liner this year. He hasn't even been a good 4th liner this year.

He's actually been very useful under Hitch. Kassian as well. Hey it could be worse. We could have James, the Real Deal, Neal lol. At least Lucic does things on the ice.
