Tips:
-Make sure to bring snacks but most importantly energy drinks (even if they don't work on you the placebo will help, trust me)
-Make a HUGE playlist of all of your favorite music
-Download some good podcasts for when you're sick of listening to music
-Don't be hesitant to stop and get food or sleep at a rest stop etc.

From my place to your place. Way too far.

Before I ever made the drive I always assumed something closer to like 20 hours. Feels like 20 hours once you hit Indiana or southern Illinois. Dreadfully boring.

If you plan to avoid traffic, really gun it, only make one stop midway to refuel.... You can make it in under 10 hours.

surprises:

-making it 13hrs and absolutely having to rest despite being 50 miles away from my destination, had to stop for a 30min power nap to finish the drive.

Calgary to Edmonton and back. Maybe 5.5 to 7 hrs. driving in total if I went direct, but I went exploring a bit, so about 10 hrs. I had a good bunch of non-metal cassettes to enjoy on that trip.

I just stopped 2 or 3 times for gas / bathroom if needed. I actually did it 3 times, although I don't recommend it. I was a stupid teenager at the time.

Raleigh - Boston ~10.5 hours, suggests that should be just north of 12 but traffic flow through a lot of that goes significantly faster then posted limit. As long as you can avoid DC traffic it's pretty easy.

What happened?

Drove from Johnstown to Mayport FL in about 11 hrs. Trip typically takes 13, but I've done it on a normal drive in 12h30-12h45m. Was 22 at the time and drove like an idiot (please don't remind me.) Drove trip digits for most of the trip and found out my car governed out at 128.

Stopped 3x for gas and barely made it back to the base for muster.
